Biological activity of natural sesquiterpenoids containing a gem-dimethylcyclopropane unit.
The biological activities of aristolane, aromadendrane, ent-1,10-secoaromadendrane, 2,3-secoaromadendrane, ent-5,10-cycloaromadendrane, bicyclogermacrene, lepidozane, and maaliane terpenoids which contain the gem-dimethylcyclopropyl unit are described. Particular attention is given to their anti-viral, anti-microbial and cytotoxic activities. In the main text there are 119 references covering t...
متن کاملSynthesis and biological activities of novel triazole compounds containing 1,3-dioxolane rings.
Thirteen new triazoles containing 1,3-dioxolane rings were synthesized and their identities confirmed by means of IR, NMR, MS, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. The results of preliminary biological tests show that all of these compounds possess some fungicidal and plant growth regulant activities.
متن کاملSynthesis of boron-containing primary amines.
In this study, boron-containing primary amines were synthesized for use as building blocks in the study of peptoids. In the first step, Gabriel synthesis conditions were modified to enable the construction of seven different aminomethylphenyl boronate esters in good to excellent yields. These compounds were further utilized to build peptoid analogs via an Ugi four-component reaction (Ugi-4CR) u...
متن کاملOne-pot Three-Component Synthesis of Dihydroquinoxalin-2-amines Containing a Ferrocene unit with the Potential of Biological and Pharmacological Activities
A three-component reaction between 1,2-phenylenediamine, ferrocenecarbaldehyde, and isocyanides in the presence of a catalytic amount of p-toluenesulfonic acid for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydroquinoxalin-2-amine derivatives containing a ferrocene unit is reported. This approach is an effective procedure because the products have a broad spectrum of biological and pharmacological activities such ...
متن کاملTheories or fragments?
Lake et al. argue persuasively that modelling human-like intelligence requires flexible, compositional representations in order to embody world knowledge. But human knowledge is too sparse and self-contradictory to be embedded in "intuitive theories." We argue, instead, that knowledge is grounded in exemplar-based learning and generalization, combined with high flexible generalization, a viewpo...
